1. Overview
Smaak Projects delivers homeware and decor products to customers across South Africa. We are committed to ensuring your order arrives safely and in excellent condition. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.
2. Where We Ship
We currently ship to all major cities, towns, and surrounding areas within South Africa, including but not limited to:
- Cape Town and the Western Cape
- Johannesburg and Gauteng
- Durban and KwaZulu-Natal
- Pretoria and surrounding areas
- Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), East London, and the Eastern Cape
- Bloemfontein and the Free State
We do not currently offer international shipping. Delivery to remote or rural areas may be subject to surcharges or extended delivery times. We will notify you if your area is affected.
3. Shipping Method
Standard Courier
All orders are shipped via our trusted courier partners using standard door-to-door delivery. Deliveries are made on business days (Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays).
Estimated delivery time: 3 to 5 business days after dispatch.
Please note that delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Factors such as courier delays, remote delivery locations, or high-volume periods (e.g. festive season) may affect delivery timelines.
4. Processing Time
Before your order is dispatched, it goes through our order processing and quality check procedure:
- Orders placed before 12:00 (noon) on a business day are typically processed the same day.
- Orders placed after 12:00 or on weekends and public holidays are processed the next business day.
- Please allow 1 to 2 business days for order processing before dispatch.
Total estimated delivery time (including processing): 4 to 7 business days from the date of order confirmation.
5. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and delivery destination of your order. The applicable shipping fee will be clearly displayed before you confirm payment.
We occasionally offer free shipping promotions, which will be communicated on our website or via email.
6. Order Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to track your parcel. You can use this to monitor your delivery in real time.
If you have not received your tracking information within 3 business days of your order confirmation, please contact us at info@smaakprojects.co.za.
7. Delivery Requirements
To ensure successful delivery, please ensure that:
- A valid physical delivery address is provided at checkout. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.
- Someone is available to receive the parcel at the delivery address during business hours.
- Your contact number is accurate so the courier can reach you if needed.
If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier will leave a notification. A second delivery attempt may be made, or you may need to arrange collection from the nearest courier depot. Additional re-delivery fees may apply.
8. Damaged or Lost Parcels
Damaged on Arrival
If your order arrives visibly damaged, please take photographs immediately and contact us within 24 hours of delivery at info@smaakprojects.co.za with your order number and photos. We will lodge a claim with the courier and arrange a replacement or refund in accordance with our Refund and Return Policy.
Lost Parcels
If your parcel has not arrived within 10 business days of your expected delivery date, please contact us and we will investigate with the courier on your behalf. If the parcel is confirmed lost, we will offer a replacement or full refund.
9. Incorrect Delivery Address
Please double-check your delivery address before placing your order. Smaak Projects is not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer. Additional courier fees may apply for address corrections or re-routing requests made after dispatch.
10. Delays Beyond Our Control
Smaak Projects will not be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters or severe weather conditions.
- National strikes or civil unrest.
- Load shedding affecting courier operations.
- Courier service interruptions or backlogs during peak periods.
We will communicate any known delays as promptly as possible.
